Luna y Sol Cantina: Reviews & Ratings

I have been so excited for the opening of Luna Y Sol Cantina’s brick and mortar. I have been following them since they have done their pop-ups. I came today around 12:50 pm as they are doing their soft opening. The atmosphere was very welcoming and everyone was super kind. Liz came over to take my order and provided great suggestions like the mango cocktail that you see in one of my pictures. I decided the order the chips and mango habanero salsa to try something different. I honestly fell in love with it. It’s the perfect balance of sweet and spicy with a unique twist. I took it home to my mom and she loves it as well. I ordered three tacos: asada, al pastor (my favorite) and carnitas. I appreciate the fact that they use handmade corn tortillas and that the meat is super juicy. Most places I go that serve tacos, their meat is dry and not as seasoned. With these tacos, it was juicy and perfectly seasoned. The al pastor was my favorite one of the three and I will be coming back for my fill! I also ordered a tres leches desert, which I’ll give my review on later. The prices are also reasonable. If you have the time and the stomach, please come over and try this spot. You won’t regret it!

Everything about this place was 10/10. The atmosphere was great and all the employees were so friendly. And of course the food was 10/10. My food and drinks came out in a timely manner. Overall would recommend to anyone looking for a good authentic Mexican restaurant.

First impression, place is cute and cozy with a patio to sit outside. Servers and Jesus were welcoming and made us feel at home. Indoor decoration is great and feels authentic. Plenty parking space and easy to get in and out. For drinks we ordered The Paloma and the Jarrito Loco. The Paloma definitely had me vibing lol. I ordered the enchiladas michoacanas, and the skirt steak was soft and tender. Husband ordered the asada tacos and they come with hand made tortillas. The others in our group ordered the torta, camarones al gusto and mexi spaghetti & fríes, and puerco en salsa. For the 3 meals, it was $30 and for two drinks and our meals it was $50. Everything looked good and cooked well. 10/10 recommend.

I couldn't wait to visit this family owned gem. I already knew the owner because he's my favorite Mixologist. I enjoyed the service and food that Jesus and his family provided because I knew them from a previous restaurant. I'm ecstatic that they are now doing their own thing serving up authentic Mexican dishes that are made with love. I kicked off my birthday with my homegirl, and we enjoyed the salsa flight, quesabiria, and chicken quesadilla. Everything was deliciously seasoned to perfection. I enjoyed a Guava Agua Fresca and she sipped on her house margarita! Everything was on point as I knew it would be. The plus was the outdoor patio that we enjoyed sitting in the sun on a beautiful day. It's my new spot!

It doesn't matter if you're sitting inside in the gloriously air-conditioned bar (a.k.a. my unofficial office) or baking yourself on the breezy patio pretending it's "al fresco" and not just "hot", either way, you’re going to run into friendly staff, regulars who’ve clearly claimed squatters’ rights, and a few first-timers wondering how they just stumbled into the best time of their week. It's physically impossible to have a bad time here. The vibes are so good, I'm half-convinced there's something in the water. Or maybe it’s just the Chicharrones. Either way, I’m not asking questions. Now let’s talk food, because holy hell. If you're tired of the same sad enchiladas drowning in boredom and melted cheese-product, welcome to salvation. This place isn’t just slinging tacos, they’re out here resurrecting lost culinary arts. Every dish feels like it was crafted by someone’s abuela who doesn’t take shit from anyone and still makes you clean your plate. It’s the kind of menu where you discover a new favorite every time you show up, and then get mad at yourself for not ordering it sooner. But let’s not kid ourselves, I basically live at the bar. It’s where my mail should be forwarded. Not only is it chilled like a meat locker in heaven, but the bartenders are sorcerers. And the drinks? Let me tell you something disturbing: they found a tequila I actually enjoy. Me. Enjoying tequila. That’s like a cat deciding it likes vacuum cleaners. Normally tequila tastes like regret and bad decisions in a glass, but somehow, here, it’s smooth, it’s complex, and it doesn’t whisper “you’re going to ruin your life” with every sip. I didn’t know tequila could be this… classy. It was disorienting, honestly. Bottom line? Whether you’re here for the mind-blowing food, the dangerously competent bartenders, or just to bask in the kind of ambiance that feels like a party you were actually invited to, this place delivers. Every damn time. Go once, and they’ll charm you. Go twice, and they’ll remember your name. Go three times, and they'll mock you affectionately while pouring your drink before you sit down. Just don’t take my spot at the bar. We’ll have words.

Luna Y Sol Cantina was great, from the service to the food to the drinks! They offer a fantastic selection of additive-free tequilas and mezcals, and they make their juices and blends from scratch. I love a quality food and cocktail experience and this place delivered. I dined at the bar, where Aldiar (pronounced AL-DE-AIR) was managing. I started with a Fresh Margarita and also tried a Lemon Drop, both were perfect! I had chips and guac, plus chicken and carnitas tacos. They were GOOD. The tacos had everything you want in a taco: juicy meat, fresh toppings and perfectly made corn tortillas. They were working from a limited menu, but everything, the food, drinks and presentation felt elevated and authentic. I’m definitely adding this one to my rotation.

The head chef, Carlos, is a young and talented chef along side his mom they’ve created a diverse menu featuring all your traditional mexican cuisine favorites with a few you’ve probably never heard of before. ;) If the food doesn’t get you, the drinks sure will! Strong and good just like we like them!
